天水讼 - Sky-Water Litigate
外卦是乾，先天五行中属阳金。内卦是坎，后天五行中属水。
和“节”卦理一体两面。节卦“节制”，本卦就需要争夺资源过来，借金生水。
动手争夺叫“争”，动嘴争夺叫“讼”。这卦就叫“讼”，争论的意思。
The external trigram is Qian, belongs to yang metal in the Primordial Trigrams. The internal trigram is Kan, belongs to water in the Derived Trigrams.
It is one body with two sides with the hexagram "Restrain". This hexagram requires fighting for resources, like borrowing gold to create water.
When fighting with hands, it is called "Fighting" and when fighting with words, it is called "Dispute". Which may cause "Litigate".
有孚，窒惕，中吉，终凶。利见大人，不利涉大川
With trust, control one's fear, it is medium-lucky and ends badly. It is favorable to see a great person, but not to cross a great river.
阳金性格刚烈，水性柔弱，争论的时候要坚持自己，压抑着心中的害怕，会好的。但是水过强则阳金锈蚀，最终结果可能外部环境都被破坏了，不是好事。要留些余地。所以说，有孚，窒惕，中吉，终凶。
窒，形声字，本义“阻塞、不通”，引申为“压制”的意思；
惕，形声字，本义“害怕”。
争论过程，可以请有能力的人帮助；不利于一个人孤身打拼。所以说，利见大人，不利涉大川。
Yang metal has a strong character, while water is weak, so when arguing, one should stick to their own and suppress the fear in their heart, which will lead to a good outcome. However, if water is too strong, it will corrode the yang metal, and in the end, the external environment may be destroyed, which is not a good thing. So leave some room. Hence, with trust, control one's fear, it is medium-lucky and ends badly.
In the process of arguing, one can ask someone capable for help, and it is not good for one person to fight alone. So it is favorable to see a great person, but not to cross a great river.
爻辞 - Line Commentary
初六。不永所事。小有言，终吉
Don't stick to what you're doing forever. Speaking with little dispute will lead to a good end.
守成有余，必须寻求发展（周围环境发展，自己原地踏步，就是退步）。发展壮大需要更多资源，只靠原来的事业维持是不行的。所以说，不永所事；
发展的过程也是尝试的过程，发展方向上的争论、资源的竞争是不可避免的，但要记得不能动手、不能过分，为争（口气）而争。最终总能得到好的结果的。所以说，小有言，终吉。
这一爻说的是，适可而止。
Maintaining the status quo is not enough, one must seek development. (If the surrounding environment develops, but one remains stagnant, it is a step backward.) To grow and expand, more resources are needed. Merely sustaining the original business is not enough. So, don't stick to what you're doing forever.
The process of development is also a process of experimentation, debates about the direction of development and competition for resources are unavoidable, but it's important to remember not to resort to violence and not to overreact. In the end, the outcome will always be positive. So, speaking with little dispute will lead to a good end.
This line says, to act in moderation.
九二。不克讼，归而逋其邑。人三百户，无眚
Cannot win the litigation, return and flee to one's own town. Three hundred households, no blindness.
逋，逃亡、逃跑；
眚，眼睛生翳，看东西不清楚。
争论到最后，总有无法说服彼此的情况，发展思路的冲突，必将导致分裂。这时候，不如离开原来的庞大利益结合体，转到一个可以发展验证自己想法的环境。在这个小环境中，自由发挥，不会受到蒙蔽。所以说，不克讼，归而逋其邑。人三百户，无眚。
这一爻说的是，形势比人强，临渊羡鱼，不如退而结网。
In the end, there will always be situations where one cannot persuade the other, and conflicts in the development of ideas will inevitably lead to division. At this time, it is better to leave the original large interest group and move to an environment where one can test their own ideas. In this small environment, one can freely express themselves and will not be obscured. So, cannot win the litigation, return and flee to one's own town. Three hundred households, no blindness.
This line says, the situation is stronger than the person, admiring fish in troubled waters, it is better to retreat and set a net.
六三。食旧德。贞厉，终吉。或从王事，无成
Consuming old achievement, being upright and adhering to the right path is challenging, eventually lucky; maybe take part in the king's affairs, there is no success.
德，本义“登高，攀登”，引申为“攀登的成就”。旧德，先祖遗留下来的成就。
要坚持前后发展的一致性，保持正定，借助竞争对手的压力，为自己发展思路查漏补缺，总能获得好的结果。所以说，食旧德。贞厉，终吉；
也许会寻求靠山，一起奋斗，但总是争讼的话，一般没有什么成就。所以说，或从王事，无成。
这一爻说的是，坚守中正。
To persist in consistency between front and back development, keep positive, take advantage of the pressure from competitors, and find loopholes for one's own development ideas, always obtain good results. Therefore, consuming old achievement, being upright and adhering to the right path is challenging, eventually lucky;
Maybe you will seek someone to rely on and strive together, but if there is always a dispute, there is generally no achievement. Therefore, maybe take part in the king's affairs, there is no success.
This line says, adhere to being upright.
九四。不克讼，复即命。渝安贞，吉
Cannot win the litigation, return to life. Change the original intention and get satisfied of being upright and adhering to the right path, good luck.
克，胜任；
命，天命、正理；
渝，水由净变污的意思。这里有改变初衷的意思。
不能胜讼，回头服从正理。改变初衷，顺其自然，安于正理。这样就好。所以说，不克讼，复即命。渝安贞，吉。
这一爻说的是，不可固执，择善从之。
Cannot win the litigation, return and obey correct principles. Change original intentions, go with the flow, be at peace with correct principles. This is good. Therefore, cannot win the litigation, return to life. Change the original intention and get satisfied of being upright and adhering to the right path, good luck.
This line says, do not be stubborn, choose the better and follow it.
九五。讼，元吉
Litigate, lucky with self-sufficiency.
理越辩越明。好事！所以说，讼，元吉。
这一爻说的是，不怕争，就怕争不清楚。
The more the argument, the clearer the argument. Good things! Therefore, to litigate, lucky with self-sufficiency.
This line says, don't be afraid of disputes, just be afraid of unclear disputes.
上九。或锡之鞶带，终朝三褫之
Be granted rewards for the leather straps and the armor of the chariot, but in the end be stripped of the three robes.
鞶，本义“皮制的束衣的大带”，古时依照身份颁赐的腰带；
褫，本义“夺去衣服”。
为争而争，不免争出火气。虽然因为自身正确，获得上位者的提升，但是争讼过程引起内部、市场混乱，威胁到和平安定。为平民愤，还是被打回原样，甚至更加不如。所以说，或锡之鞶带，终朝三褫之。
这一爻说的是，不留余地，反目成仇。
To compete for the sake of competition may lead to animosity. Although being in the right may lead to being elevated by those in power, the process of competition may cause internal and market chaos and threaten peace and stability. It may result in the anger of the common people, or even being sent back to where you started, or even worse. Therefore, be granted rewards for the leather straps and the armor of the chariot, but in the end be stripped of the three robes.
This line means that holding a grudge leads to animosity.
争讼到达极点，反目成仇，如果不能容忍这潜在竞争对手，不妨出兵征讨之。
When the competition reaches its peak and leads to animosity, it may be better to resort to force rather than tolerate the potential rival.
