Yin Yang

  • 有,没有;

  • 是,不是;

  • 刚硬,柔软;

  • 无缝平滑,坑坑洼洼;

  • 热的,冷的;

  • 太阳,月亮;

  • 天,地;

  • ……

In Chinese civilization, the concept of yin and yang is the most basic. It represents concepts that appear in pairs, such as:

  • Existence and non-existence;

  • Being and not being;

  • Hardness and softness;

  • Smoothness and roughness;

  • Hot and cold;

  • Sun and moon;

  • Sky and earth;

  • ……

There is no object in the world that has "independent" properties. Therefore, everything has yin and yang.

Yang is generally used to describe strong, majestic things; while yin is often associated with weak, negative images.

In Chinese civilization, the first model is the "Tai Chi" composed of yin and yang.

  • 在圆形(世界)不变的情况下,阴鱼大则阳鱼小;阳鱼大则阴鱼小;

  • 世界中只有阴阳两种状态,不存在第三种中间态;

  • 阳鱼中必含阴,阴鱼中必含阳;

  • 阴阳鱼彼此交缠,阴动阳随,阳动阴随;

The Tai Chi is shaped like a circle, composed of two fish embracing each other, one with a black body and white eye, the other with a white body and black eye, can be still or moving. The black fish is often associated with yin, and the white fish with yang; but it can also be the opposite, and there is no need to insist.

  • In the constant condition of the circle (world), when the yin fish is big, the yang fish is small; when the yang fish is big, the yin fish is small;

  • There are only two states of yin and yang in the world, there is no third intermediate state;

  • Yang fish must contain yin, and yin fish must contain yang;

  • Yin and yang fish are intertwined with each other, yin moves with yang, yang moves with yin;

  • The black line on the back of the white fish is just to indicate the boundary, it should be noted.

  • When the black and white fish start to move, the entire Tai Chi diagram turns. At this point, from the outside, yin and yang are no longer distinguishable and the world is one. This state is called "chaos" or "wuji" (limitless).
