爻-卦 - The Line-Trigram
爻画 - Line Figures (Yao)
我们假托“上古”文明的传承,用符号来表示阴阳,
阳,▄▄▄;
阴,▄ ▄。
阳中实,刚强而不变;阴中空,阴柔而流通。
这两个符号,我们用“爻”命名,称之为“阳爻”,“阴爻”。
阴爻和阳爻的核心意义就在中间的虚实表象。
We pretend to inherit the "ancient" civilization, using symbols to represent yin and yang,
Yang, ▄▄▄;
Yin, ▄ ▄.
In yang there is substance, strong and unchanging; in yin there is emptiness, yin is soft and fluid.
We use these two symbols and name them "yang line" and "yin line" respectively.
The core meaning of yin line and yang line lies in the representation of emptiness and substance in the middle.
卦画 - Trigram Figures
The Book of Changes (Zhou Yi) and previous Chinese civilizations did not originally have the word "gua" (hexagrams) to describe eight basic natural concepts and symbolize natural phenomena and changes in human affairs.
In order to make it easier to introduce these eight symbols, ancient works introducing and explaining the Book of Changes created the word "gua" (hexagrams) . In the following text, "gua" (hexagrams) is used to refer to these symbols, without further elaboration.
☰乾,通体阳刚,没有丝毫阴柔的存在,天地间一切美好的赞誉,那就是地球的母亲,太阳。乾就是“日”,就是白天,就是永恒不变的“天”;
☷坤,通体阴柔,乾的对立,“月”,黑夜,和天相对运行不怠的“地”(古人早就不用“地心说”的);
☶艮,低下头来,大地之上,看起来阳刚雄伟的,巍巍群山;走入山中,曲径通幽,溶洞密布,深入地下,原来山的内部满是是阴柔空洞。一个阳爻在上,象征群山巍峨;两个阴爻在下,象征山中走穴,让地气流通。艮象征的是“山”;
☱兑,低下头来,大地之上,河泽密布,蜿蜒曲折;河流之下,河套坚固,才能承载奔流到海的滚滚洪涛。一个阴爻在上,象征河泽中运动的水;两个阳爻在下,象征坚固的河床。兑象征的是“泽”;
☳震,抬起头来,天空之上,雷霆万钧,如剑撕裂万物;但雷霆一闪而没,了无痕迹。一个阳爻在下,象征雷霆摧毁万物之势;两个阴爻在上,暗示雷霆原是无形之物。震象征的是“雷”;
☴巽,抬起头来,天空之上,春风送爽,凉风习习,秋风肃杀,寒风凛冽,风无影无形;但风从未停过,只要你动,她便存在,这里未停,那边已起。一个阴爻在下,象征风无定形;两个阳爻在上,象征永恒存在的风。巽象征的是“风”;
☲离,自然界中的火,无情强势;但火的中心其实并不那么热,流通着空气。两个阳爻在外,象征火性刚烈;中间是一个阴爻,象征流通而柔弱的内在。离象征的是“火”;
☵坎,自然界中的水,阴柔;但是没有任何办法把一碗水压缩到半碗。水,原来也是刚强的。两个阴爻在外,象征水性阴柔;中间是一个阳爻,象征刚强的内在。坎象征的是“水”。
☰ Qian, with a completely Yang and strong existence, without any hint of Yin and softness, all the praises of beauty in the world, that is the mother of the Earth, the Sun. Qian is "sun", it is the daytime, it is the eternal and unchanging "sky";
☷ Kun, with a completely Yin and soft existence, the opposite of Qian, "moon", the night, and the "earth" or "land" that runs opposite to the sky (ancient people long ago did not use the "geocentric theory");
☶ Gen, lowering its head, on top of the earth, looking strong and majestic, towering mountains; entering the mountain, winding paths lead to seclusion, caves are abundant, and deep underground, the inside of the mountain is full of soft and empty spaces. One Yang line above symbolizes the lofty peaks of the mountains; two Yin lines below symbolize the caves within the mountain that allow the flow of the earth's energy. Gen symbolizes "mountain";
☱ Dui, lowering its head, on top of the earth, there are many rivers, winding and twisting; under the river, the riverbed is solid, able to bear the raging waves that flow to the sea. One Yin line above symbolizes the movement of water in the rivers; two Yang lines below symbolize the solid riverbed. Dui symbolizes "waterway" or "river";
☳ Zhen, raising its head, in the sky above, thunder and lightning are powerful, like a sword tearing apart everything; but thunder and lightning disappear without a trace. One Yang line below symbolizes the power of thunder and lightning to destroy everything; two Yin lines above suggest that thunder and lightning are originally formless things. Zhen symbolizes "thunder";
☴ Xun, raising its head, in the sky above, the spring breeze is refreshing, the cool breeze is gentle, the autumn breeze is solemn and deadly, the cold breeze is cold and piercing, the wind is invisible and formless; but the wind never stops, as long as you move, it exists, here it stops, there it starts. One Yin line below symbolizes the formless nature of wind; two Yang lines above symbolize the eternal existence of wind. Xun symbolizes "wind";
☲ Li, fire in the natural world, ruthless and powerful; but the center of fire is actually not that hot, circulating with air. Two Yang lines on the outside symbolize the fiery and fierce nature of fire; in the middle is one Yin line, symbolizing the internal circulation and weakness. Li symbolizes "fire";
☵ Kan, water in the natural world, Yin and soft; but there is no way to compress a bowl of water to half a bowl. Water is also originally strong. Two Yin lines on the outside symbolize the Yin and soft nature of water; in the middle is one Yang line, symbolizing the strong internal nature. Kan symbolizes "water".
